It is also used for increasing lymphatic drainage, reducing edema, facilitating muscular contraction, and pain management.

Rehabilitation

Utilized by all practitioners of SPC, rehabilitation is a integral part of any injury management treatment plan. Rehabilitation can include strengthening, stretching, motor re-programming, and sport specific exercise. It is utilized in order to reduce pain, return tissues to their pre-injury state, and prevent future injuries.

Pre-habilitation

Refers to rehabilitation that is prescribed preceding surgery. By preparing the body for surgery by ensuring the tissues are strong, and as healthy as possible, one can reduce the amount of time it takes to recover after surgery.

Custom Orthotics and Bracing

SPC practitioners use Gaitscan analysis in order to custom fit orthotics and/or orthopedic inserts (www.theorthoticgroup.com). As well, SPC provides fitting for custom orthopedic knee braces for ACL, MCL, PCL, and LCL ligament tears (www.omnils.com)

Biomechanical Analysis

Our doctors and therapists will analyze your gait or sports skill to help reduce the risk of injury and make you more biomechanically efficient to give you the performance edge.

Cogsport Concussion Testing

Safety comes first when it comes to our athletes. By assigning a numerical value to the parameters affected by a concussion (reaction time, memory, and delayed memory) our doctors are able to make unbiased return-to-play decisions thereby reducing the risk of post-concussion syndrome. For improved results bring the team or athlete in for a pre-season baseline test to which follow-up results are compared.

Accelerade

AcceleradeAccelerade is the biggest stride in sports drinks in over 30 years. Accelerade ready-to-drink is the first and only protein-enhanced sports drink containing the patented 4:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio. Accelerade is designed for use during exercise and has been clinically proven to increase endurance up to 29 percent over ordinary sports drinks. More than a decade ago, top exercise physiologists teamed up to develop the ideal sports drink that delivers superior endurance. It was discovered that protein, in the right ratio to carbohydrates, was the key to unlocking superior performance over conventional sports drinks that contained carbohydrates alone. Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages acquired the Accelerade trademark in 2006 from Pacific Health Laboratories and maintained the patented 4:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio while developing a satisfying taste athletes demand in a sports drink. The introduction of Accelerade ready-to-drink in 20-ounce bottles makes the 4:1 advantage conveniently available to all consumers SPC clients.
